🚀 Your Mission:

Own the end-to-end retouching feature lifecycle - from discovery to deployment - bridging the gap between professional photography expertise and product/engineering teams. You'll translate complex retouching requirements (dark circle removal, flyaway hair, skin tone correction, etc.) into clear, buildable solutions while ensuring every output meets the highest standard of quality.

🎯 What You Will Do:

• Partner with Product Managers during discovery - join user research calls, validate findings, and review PRDs through the lens of a retouching expert to ensure requirements are grounded in real photographic practice

• Translate professional photographer jargon and retouching workflows into precise, actionable requirements that engineers and PMs can understand and execute on

• Work closely with the engineering team during solution design and development - reviewing builds, providing structured critique, and keeping work on the right track without letting substandard output slip through

• Act as the taste and quality bar for all retouching features - push back when solutions fall short and advocate clearly for what "good" looks like

• Directly influence the retouching team's decisions by being a trusted voice across product, engineering, and creative functions throughout the feature lifecycle

💪 What We're Looking For:

• Experience: 4+ years as a professional portrait retoucher or high-end photo retouching specialist, with a strong portfolio demonstrating skin retouching, hair cleanup, and complex portrait work

• Tools: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (frequency separation, dodge & burn, masking); hands-on experience with AI-powered retouching tools (Luminar Neo, PortraitPro, Capture One, or similar)

• Cross-functional chops: Comfortable working alongside PMs and engineers - able to articulate why something looks wrong and what needs to change in terms a developer can act on

• Critical eye: High attention to detail with the confidence to critique work constructively and not accept "good enough" - you know the difference, and you'll say so

• Bonus: Prior experience embedded in a product or tech team, or familiarity with how AI/ML-based photo editing tools are built or evaluated
